And the trip begins....

We are leaving in a few minutes for CT. I have spent the day packing and double checking that we have everything because once we leave it stays here. All that matters is the rings, the license, and the dress really. I am getting anxious. I just want to get going, but PP is being slow.

The past couple of days have been good. My neighbor, DH, got me out of the house Thursday and Friday for lunch, which made me start my day, which was good. Saturday night, SG threw me a surprise party with all my former coworkers. It was alot of fun. AG even came down from VA, which was a huge surprise. They gave PP and I a vacumn and Sunday PP spent the morning playing with it. Our old vacumn was horrible. The new one picked up so much and our carpet is so much fluffier now.

I have to go. I probably won't post again til after the wedding.

It's official....

I am unemployed. Quitting took such a load off my chest. Long story short...things weren't working out and I had to move my resignation date up to this past Thursday. I couldn't be happier. I think PP is glad too because now I am in a much better mood. I did learn this week that if I am unemployed too long with nothing to do, I will go crazy. I have to thank my neighbor DH for getting me out of the house for lunch the past couple of days. It definately helped. I have been stealing her dog (Zora's boyfriend) just so I would have something to entertain me because Zora is quite boring during the day.

Progress was made tonight. Wedding favors are finally done and we can see our dining room table again. PP had to help cuz I was extremely unmotivated. People are definately going to be able to tell that two uncreative people made them. PP got a little fire happy with melting wax. He did make use of every bit of wax in the stick, but we lost a pair of scissors to the process. A small price to pay. Tonight the seating chart was also finalized. Noone but us knows where people are sitting and it is going to stay that way. There was enough bickering with the two of us doing it, that if we added parental help it could have been diastrous. Let's hope everyone loves surprises.

PP and I had our second major argument over the wedding. I don't think it helped that is was 11:30 after a long week. I am a control freak. I can admit that. I have things under control and I don't want it tampered with, no matter how well meaning he was.

I am exhausted and I am starting to hear the same songs on ITunes, so it is time for bed. One more week. :-)

This weekend was fun and productive. I got a good headstart on the wedding favors. They still aren't done, but getting there. I think that if I ever see periwinkle ribbon again after the wedding I will scream. The instructions said that this was an easy project. A 1 on thier scale. I don't know who they have doing their projects, but it isnt the average person. I can thank my department for the time off this week to continue to work on them.

I went to my first Colombian party on Saturday night. It was a coworkers birthday and his wife invite some of my coworkers and I to go. I was a bit apprehensive, going to a place where it was all people who spoke Spanish. We were only going to stay a little while, enough to wish him Happy Birthday. We were one of the first people to arrive and the look on his face was hilarous. I have to say Colombians certainly know how to throw a party. They had a five piece salsa band and enough liquor for the city of Raleigh. The sangria was good, but there was this stuff that came in a big juice box and was called nector. It is my new favorite alcohol. Too bad it is only sold in South America. It went down so smooth. We ended up staying a long time and having a great time. Everyone was so friendly and they didnt laugh when we attempted to salsa dance.

Amazingly I didn't have a hangover on Sunday too. Sunday was ultraproductive. We got a ton of errands done and finish the itinerary for the wedding. It seems like time is standing still. I just wish the day would get here.

Thanks to my moronic department, I had today off and I have tomorrow off as far as I can tell. I went to my meeting the most belligerent person they had ever seen. All I want to do is get through my last week and then never have to deal with this stupidity again. BUT NO!!! One of my coworkers has to be an ass. Though I think all support that he thought he was going to get was not there, so we will see what happens. Hopefully they will pay me to be off all week. That would be the greatest. I could use the rest before the wedding.

I have to clean the mess of bubble wrap off the dining room floor so the dog won't be scared of it. I have to say I was more excitied about the Tiffany boxes, than what was inside. Though what was inside was nice, the boxes were high quality.

Oh Happy Day!

I gave my official notice today at work. I couldn't be happier. My boss wasn't surprised because she knew it was coming. I wanted to wait another week, but at lunch today it came up, so the way things spread in our department, I had to make it official. RG thought my letter should have been meaner, but I dont want to burn bridges.

We started our seating chart for the wedding today. It is hard to group everyone you know into groups of 8 to 10. Hopefully everyone is happy and if not then they just have to deal with it for dinner, then they can mingle

A Start

So, I have been told that I should start a blog. I guess it makes sense since I blog stalk alot of other people. Most of whom I don't know. I haven't start a blog yet because I always figured I wouldn't have anything to talk about, which is amazing for me. I always have something to talk about. I'll give it a try and see what happens. I'll be unemployed soon, so I will have plenty of time to post then.

Work today was one of those days that makes me glad that I am quitting in 9 working days. :-) Thinking about that always brings a smile to my face. I have yet to understand how some people have kept thier jobs as long as they have. To me they seem uncapable of functioning in the outside world. I am just glad that SG is there for me to vent my frustrations. She does the same and I know I always feel better afterwards.

I have to go finish making bruschetta for RC birthday lunch tomorrow. I am going to go the bed reeking of garlic, which Pete doesnt seem to mind.

***I am adding a picture to this post just so I can add it to my profile.
