This past weekend was a long weekend for me. I woke up Friday and did not feel good at all. I think it was dinner the night before or my body sensing that I wanted a day off. Either way it was nice to have a day off. Zora and I slept late and then just relaxed the rest of the day. We went on a long walk and when Pete came home we went to Lowe's and Home Depot. We got a new trimmer, grass seed, fertilizer, and mulch and a bush. We had to go to two different stores because we have a gift card to Lowe's, but they don't carry the mulch that we have been using. Hopefully it was the last load of mulch. The back bumper of my car touches the ground when you put 14 bags of mulch in the trunk and backseat. Zora is getting better at riding in the front seat on the floor between my legs.
Saturday, Pete worked on the lawn and I cleaned the house. We also got two new tires and an alignment for my car. We tried to have it inspected and they would not do it because there was metal showing through on the front tires. Those tires are only a year and a half old, but because of the poor alignment they wore down quickly. So Big Blue has two new tires and some shims in the back axle. Don't ask me the particulars, but the car does drive better.
Sunday, Pete and I didn't talk to each other most of the day. He got mad at me, then I got mad at him for not telling me what was wrong. It was a fun day. Not. I was good though. I left and went shopping, which can be dangerous, but I only got what I needed. I really want a new car, so I have to spend smartly.
Sunday night I made a new recipe from Giada's new cookbook. My cousin works for her, so my aunt sent me a copy of the cookbook. I made Prosciutto raviolis. They were pretty easy to make and I think they came out pretty good. It was easy because you use wonton wraps. It may be a new dinner for the rotation.
This week is going to be slow. There is not much going on except a friend of Pete's from college is coming Wednesday and staying over the night on the way to NY. We saw him in June at the wedding, but did not get to visit with him. The day was crazy.
Thats about it. Off to finish the last 48 minutes of work.

After photos

The right side of the front lawn with a new wall and grass.
This weekend has been slow. Yesterday Pete mulched most of the front lawn. Two trips to Home Depot, 25 bags of mulch, and an almost broken back axle to my car still did not finish the front yard . It should only take about 4 more bags to finish the front and a ton more to finish the back.
Last weekend Pete's parents came to visit. It was a good kind of visit. They were only here a day and a half. It was good to see them though. Unfortunately, one of the days they were here it rained horribly all day, so we were stuck inside. Pete and his Dad installed a dimmer switch for our living room light. I wasn't here, but apparently Dad only had to get shocked twice before they decided to turn off the breaker. Men! Mom and I went shopping. We were only looking for a pair of pants for her, and I was the one who ended up with 2 pairs of pants, 5 shirts, and a picture frame. All of our wedding photos are framed now though. Now I just need to frame the kid's portraits and I am done. For now.
I need to go get groceries and workout. So later!

A Surprise!
After work on Monday, Pete and I came home to a surprise. Our landscaper had started earlier than thought. By the time we got there, they had finished the back wall and were about half way done with the front wall. Tuesday, they finished all walls and seeded the back yard. Wednesday morning they sodded the front yard in the rain. Good timing because we got torrential rains last night. It soaked the sod through so we didn't have to water.
These are a few before pictures. In these we have already fixed and planted some of the flower beds.
This is going down the side of the house toward the back.
This is the best one I have to show the left side of the front yard. See all the clover growing.

This is a good one showing the hill that we need to contain on the front of the house and our patchy clover yard.

I will try and take the after pictures soon. It has been sunny all day today, so I should be able to get out there tonight.

Where I have been?
My dad, niece and two nephews were here. That should explain enough, but there is more.
They got here two Fridays ago around 9. They were wired from being in the car for hours. That was a late night and they still got up early. I got up earlier than if I was going to work.
Saturday -
We spent the day at the park and church in the evening.

Sunday -
Had the kids pictures taken and did some shopping.
Monday -
I had to work half a day, but in the afternoon, I took the two younger kids to Duke Park where they had a cool playground.

Tuesday -
Another half day of work. In the afternoon, the kids and I went to the Durham Museum of Life and Science, which was pretty cool.

Wednesday -
NC Zoo. It is normally a lot of walking, but it seemed harder pushing a 3 year old in a stroller the whole way.

Thursday -
Dad took all the kids and I was able to clean a little. Holy Thursday services at night, which the kids and Dad didn't attend.
Friday -
They left in the morning. I cleaned all day, except for the little more than hour I locked myself on our deck. Thank God Pete was coming home early for Church. I ended up skipping Good Friday mass for multiple reasons.
Saturday and Sunday - Pure relaxation and some final cleaning. It was so good to have a clean quiet house back. Saturday night was Easter vigil mass, which ended up being 3 hours long, but it doesn't seem anywhere that long. Easter was quiet. I don't think that I ended up getting out of my pjs.
