So tired.

I am exhausted, so this is going to be my post for the day. I spent
the entire day following around a delegate of Moroccans. I will
elaborate on it tomorrow.

Eight Things about My Marriage

1. Where did you meet your husband?
At a friend's party in college.

2. What was the first thing you said to your husband?
"Hold this"
I was trying to get another friend to stop drinking, so I grabbed his
drink and handed it to Pete and then got one of Pete's friend to drink
it.

3. Where was your first kiss?
In the living room of a friend's apartment during a party. I was
trying to get Mardi Gras beads from him. (Different party than when I
met him)

4. Did you have a long or short courtship/engagement?
We dated 3 1/2 years before getting engaged and were engaged almost 2
years before getting married.

5. Where did you get engaged?
On the beach in Myrtle Beach. We were vacationing with Pete's parents
and went for walk on the beach at night with his brother. We walked
forever because Pete was waiting for his brother to leave before
asking me. When his brother finally went back to the bar, Pete got
down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

6. Where did you get married?
St. Mary's Church in Massachusetts ( the church where I was confirmed
and graduated high school)

7. How did the reception go?
It was awesome. Our own personal waiter definitely helped things
along with the constant supply of drinks.

8. How was the honeymoon?
It was ok. It was a IBM paid trip to Ottawa, Canada. Pete was in a
conference for part of the days.

I am officially a permanent employee. After 13 1/2 months of being a
contractor, I now get paid time off. I haven't mentioned anything
about this because I wasn't sure how it was going to play out, but all
is good in the end. I got a raise, not quite how much I wanted, but
close enough. It will be good to have a little extra money coming in,
so we can save for another car, now that we are down to one car.(but
that is a story for another day)

Even though I have worked here for over a year, I still had to go to
new employee orientation. 5 1/2 hours learning about the company I
already know about. Let me tell you about fun. I learned all about
parking, security and expense reports.

I barely got through all the work I needed to get done, but I am
heading home. I need to finish the laundry and get groceries for the
week. Thanks to my loving husband who cleaned the floors yesterday, I
have one less thing to do when I get home.

So cold...

It is so cold here. I now remember why we moved south and why we are
staying there.

My mother is cooking Thanksgiving dinner for me today since I won't be
able to come home for Thanksgiving. I love turkey and stuffing and
everything else. My stepfather's cousins are coming for dinner with
us. It should be fun.

I cleaned out my room and the basement today and found my little
ponies, my old cabbage patch dolls, and the clothes that I came home
in. I still need to decide if I want to bring my skis home with me.
I don't want to part with them, but I don't know when I am going to use them again.

I have to go help with dinner.

Massachusetts

Since last night, I am in Mass. When I come back here, I feel like I
am 12 again. I have to ask permission to do things and I am told what
to do and when. It is amazing how much I miss home when I am here.

My main reason for coming home is to clean out the attic of my
parent's house. They are moving to FL a year from now. I have to
decide what from my childhood I would like to keep for when I have
children and what I would like to go to the dump. This is going to be
very difficult for me. I am a huge pack rat when it comes to things
with memories, but I have a husband to deal with. He is very much
into having the minimal amount of stuff. I agree with him for the
most part, but I also would like to keep everything. Sunday is going
to be very interesting.

My plane ride down here kinda sucked. It was mega hot in the plane
and we sat at the gate for almost an hour while they changed the tail
lights on our plane. If they knew they were out, then change them and
then load the plane. The plane used for the direct flight to BDL from
home is really small. You can't even stand all the way up in it. I
was stuck against a window with the inability to sit still for long
periods of time. It was so worth it when I walked into baggage claim
and there was a very excited Jesse. She is the best part of coming
back up north.

I am going to go back to watching Grey's. I need to keep some things,
so I will actually be able to post everyday this month.

Halloween Surprise

After work, our plan was for me to stop home and pick up Pete and head
straight out to return Big Blue's plates and go to church. So I am
driving home, in a bad mood from work, and I pull in the drive and
Pete isn't ready. He tells me to come in the house for a minute and I
am getting annoyed. He stayed home, so we could leave right away. He
drags me into the kitchen and I am not so nicely telling him to get
going, when he finally drags me into the living room, where MY NEW TV
sat!

We ordered it a week ago and when Pete called earlier this week, they
told him that it would be a couple more weeks before it came in
because it was a popular model. Apparently they called yesterday
morning, while Pete was working from home, and had one in stock. They
were able to come right out and deliver it. Pete was apparently was
dropping hints all day via AIM, but I was so busy that I didn't even
notice.

Plans changed and the entire night after we got back from church was
spent playing with the new TV. It is amazing how HD looks. I am
enjoying having a TV that is bigger than our computer screen and
bigger than a postage stamp.

Need to get back to work. Tons to do before I leave.
