Happy Thoughts!

This week has flown by. Work has been great. I have been busy all week and I am still enjoying it. As I write my desk is covered, which means I wont be bored the rest of the day. Happy thoughts.

Other than work, things have been quiet. Poor Zora though. She has had a hard adjustment to both of us working. She is very very hyper when we get home. When I worked at UNC, she wasnt home alone as much. Pete went in later and I came home early, so there was only a small chunk of time she was alone. Now Pete and I leave at the same time and come home at the same time. Some days I come home, walk her and leave to go the gym. She is lonely I think.

On a happy note, our apartment gives us a free gym membership. In July, I quit Curves and started taking advantage of it. Since I started working I havent been going because by the time I get home I dont want to go back out 54 in rush hour traffic to a packed gym to workout. Well here is the happy thing, our gym was taken over by Peak Fitness and Peak Fitness also took over the gym in the shopping plaza the next street over from us. Pete called (cuz I hate calling places and people. I always feel like I am putting them out. In the past couple years I finally got the nerve to order pizza) and found out that we can use the one next door with our membership. Now I dont have to fight traffic and go far to work out, which means I will work out more. AND the one next door is open 24 hours a day. Not that I would, but I could work out late at night.

On another happy note, and this happened weeks ago, I just forgot to tell everyone. The end of September holds two of my friends birthdays. I had thier cards and needed extra postage, cuz they were the new musical ones from Hallmark. So I figured I would kill three birds with one stone and walk the dog to the post office, get my extra postage and pay with it with all the extra change I had. (I hate change. I always have a ton and forget about it cuz it is a pain to dig it out when you are standing in a line at a store. I feel like the people are swearing at me as I pay in nickels just like I swear at the people who still write checks at the grocery store and Target.) We get to the post office and I find out the machine I wanted to use only takes credit card. I swear for a minute and then go and find another stamp machine. It takes pennies. What a happy day. I start feeding pennies in. (Mind you its Sunday night and the post office is empty) (Being it was Sunday night, one of the cards was already late. I am bad like that) Anywho, I figured I needed $1.56 in stamps. I used all my pennies and got to $1.31. Damn that was alot of pennies and it took awhile. Pete and Zora were waiting patiently outside, well kinda. Pete finally came in and Zora had her nosed pressed to the glass door wanting to come in. I used the rest of my nickels to finish the purchase and I was done. I was pysched (1) to have the cards in the mail finally and (2) I used almost all my change. I had a few quarters left but thats ok. Pete can use those for his quarter sodas and snacks at IBM. I walk out of the post office that night very satisfied.

I know that was a wierd story, and probably drawn out more than it needed to be, but oh well.
