Over a week and no post. Bad me.
Let's start with where I left off. I dont think anything fun happened last friday, maybe but I dont remember.
Oh, before I get started, for JK, a squirrel update. The last squirrel was set free by the apartment complex the next day and so far there have been no more. I think they have caught them all or the squirrels have died in the walls. Either way Zora has been depressed. She misses her furry little friends.
Last weekend was very eventful. Saturday was our first trip out with our real estate agent. We had a ton to do before we met with her, so we were up early. Zora had her yearly checkup at the vet. The vet told her she was fat. She is only 5 pounds over. I think that vet was not a nice person. Zora's cataract has gotten worse. It is not a medium snowflake in her eye. Her vision is blurry in that eye, not that you would ever know, cuz she can spot a squirrel a mile away. Zora is now up to date on shots, and fully dewormed for her trip north. We then went to the post office. I was so excited because there was only one person in line in front of me. I knew that it was too good to be true. The desk people just left when I got there. I was there for 20 minutes just to get stamps, but in the end, my christmas cards went out with my grandparents package. Next stop was the library. That one was easy though.
On to house hunting. Our first stop was the house that looked perfect online. I was in love with it, so sure that it was the one. HAHA! Damn trick photography. The house was nice, but in bad condition. It would have had to been painted and caulked. The kitchen counter was damaged. The living room was long and narrow and would have been really hard to arrange furniture. Pete didnt say anything. He let me come to the conclusion that I hated the house. House #2 had a daycare in the backyard and was laid out horribly. House #4 was nice. It had a huge backyard, but the house was on the cramped side. We could have lived in it, but would have outgrown it in a couple of years. House #5, 6, 7, 8 were just bad. A couple we didnt even get out of the car for. Now, house #3 was nice. 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, bonus room on 3rd floor. Hardwood floors. The yard isnt huge, but we figured that you either get big house, little yard or little house, big yard. We were going to have to give up something. The yard is enough to fence in for the dog.
We talked it over saturday, weighted all options and decided to sleep on it. That night I had a dream about organizing its closet. Talking about it when we woke on sunday we decided we should just put in an offer. We called our real estate agent and by 2 the paperwork was done, and by 830 that night, the seller had accepted our first offer. From that point on things started moving rather quickly. Tuesday we went to get our mortgage. The inspection was thursday and the termite inspection was friday. The closing date has been set and now we wait.
We leave for the north on tuesday, so that will break up the wait.
Other than that, things are going well. Work has been a little slow. People are winding down for the holiday, so there isnt much to do.
Thats about all for now. Ta Ta!
