I have time to post. Things have been crazy. Lets go back a few days.
Last Thursday, we had our final walk through. First thing we notice was the gutters were not cleaned. That was one of the things that the seller agreed to do. Whatever not that important, but Rhonda, our agent, said she would call Bram, the seller's agent. We walk through and notice that the seller caused some minor damage when moving his stuff out. He filled the trash can and didn't empty it. Apparently he didn't want his dishes because he just threw them all out in the trash without bag. Lovely man. While looking around, I found this hat in a box in the closet. I take it with me and was going to give it back at the closing. It is not the type of hat that either of us would wear.
Last Friday was our closing. We get to the lawyers office on time and so does our agent. The lawyer was really nice and explained everything. Rhonda was trying to get a hold of Bram to get the deed, title and keys. She calls him and he is at the house trying to clean the gutters himself. The gutters on one side are 4 stories up. Moron. Like he could do it in a morning himself. So we tell him to forget it, just bring us the keys and let us take possession before the sale is recorded because we had a Time Warner appointment. Finally its over with and I hand the hat over to Bram to give back to the seller. We go off to the apartment to load our cars with some stuff to bring over to the house.
We get to the house and decide to tie the dog out back. That is why we bought the house, so she could have a yard. We leave her tied in the back on a wire tie out. We go around the front and are unloading the cars. All of a sudden I hear something that sounds really familiar, like Zora's collar. I look out and there she is tangled in our neighbor's bushes chasing their cat. She broke the tie out and almost took out our neighbor's father. Great way to start. We ended up taking 4 car loads over Friday and unpacked it all and cleaned the entire house Friday night. Zora christened the house that night too. We love our dog. Really we do.
Saturday morning, we got up early to go get the Uhaul. We get back and start loading by 830. Pete's parents came down and got there about 1030. His dad helped Pete finish loading furniture. Zora was with a neighbor the entire time. It was so much easier to move without her. We get the truck loaded by 100 and head over to the house. The last piece was out of the truck by 430 and Pete and his dad returned the truck while his mom and I went grocery shopping. We unpacked some stuff and just relaxed the rest of the night.
Sunday, Pete and his dad fixed some stuff and cleaned up some, while his mom and I did some shopping and finished the unpacking.
Monday was rough to go to work. Things at work are crazy. There was a big move over the weekend and everyone was complaining about something.
This entire week has been insane. Every night has been busy and work is crazy. I have more work than I have time for and it keeps coming.
All in all, it is great to be in the house and settled. There is some stuff to do, but for the most part things are great.
Anytime anyone is in the area, stop on by and stay awhile. We have plenty of room!
