Over a week and no post. Bad me.

Let's start with where I left off. I dont think anything fun happened last friday, maybe but I dont remember.

Oh, before I get started, for JK, a squirrel update. The last squirrel was set free by the apartment complex the next day and so far there have been no more. I think they have caught them all or the squirrels have died in the walls. Either way Zora has been depressed. She misses her furry little friends.

Last weekend was very eventful. Saturday was our first trip out with our real estate agent. We had a ton to do before we met with her, so we were up early. Zora had her yearly checkup at the vet. The vet told her she was fat. She is only 5 pounds over. I think that vet was not a nice person. Zora's cataract has gotten worse. It is not a medium snowflake in her eye. Her vision is blurry in that eye, not that you would ever know, cuz she can spot a squirrel a mile away. Zora is now up to date on shots, and fully dewormed for her trip north. We then went to the post office. I was so excited because there was only one person in line in front of me. I knew that it was too good to be true. The desk people just left when I got there. I was there for 20 minutes just to get stamps, but in the end, my christmas cards went out with my grandparents package. Next stop was the library. That one was easy though.

On to house hunting. Our first stop was the house that looked perfect online. I was in love with it, so sure that it was the one. HAHA! Damn trick photography. The house was nice, but in bad condition. It would have had to been painted and caulked. The kitchen counter was damaged. The living room was long and narrow and would have been really hard to arrange furniture. Pete didnt say anything. He let me come to the conclusion that I hated the house. House #2 had a daycare in the backyard and was laid out horribly. House #4 was nice. It had a huge backyard, but the house was on the cramped side. We could have lived in it, but would have outgrown it in a couple of years. House #5, 6, 7, 8 were just bad. A couple we didnt even get out of the car for. Now, house #3 was nice. 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, bonus room on 3rd floor. Hardwood floors. The yard isnt huge, but we figured that you either get big house, little yard or little house, big yard. We were going to have to give up something. The yard is enough to fence in for the dog.

We talked it over saturday, weighted all options and decided to sleep on it. That night I had a dream about organizing its closet. Talking about it when we woke on sunday we decided we should just put in an offer. We called our real estate agent and by 2 the paperwork was done, and by 830 that night, the seller had accepted our first offer. From that point on things started moving rather quickly. Tuesday we went to get our mortgage. The inspection was thursday and the termite inspection was friday. The closing date has been set and now we wait.

We leave for the north on tuesday, so that will break up the wait.

Other than that, things are going well. Work has been a little slow. People are winding down for the holiday, so there isnt much to do.

Thats about all for now. Ta Ta!

All my Christmas shopping is done and it is all wrapped. My goal is to get my cards done this week and mail everything including presents going to people in FL out on Saturday. I think I can do it. This will be the first year I have done it. I am usually the person who is mailing out less than a week before, paying a ton to get it there on time. It makes me feel good.

Work is blah. This week is dragging by. I think it is because I am looking forward to Saturday and to the 19th. I am ready for a vacation.

I get to leave early today though. That is always happy. It is only a half hour, but still early.

Another friend for Zora

There was another trapped squirrel this morning. Zora was kind enough to let us know by jumping on the plant and trying to get out the window. We arent calling this time. Maybe they wont let it out and we can somehow break our lease. I cant release this trap either. Too far away. Poor squirrel though. It was really cold this morning and he was sitting exposed in a metal cage.
Dude! You're 68% from Massachusetts!

Okay, either you come from the western half of the state or from the Boston area. Still, it's not bad, so I'll give you the thumbs up. Cool!

How Massachusetts are you?

House front

We met with the last realtor on Saturday morning and made the decision walking out the door to go with the one we had met on Thursday night. She seems to fit best with our personalities. I am not saying that the others were bad, but I dont think I could stand working with them. I am very particular about personalities. I dont have much patience for some people.

We have an appointment to go look at 3 houses on Saturday morning. Two are in woodcroft. They are ok, but I am not in love with the pictures. The other one is the one I found online. We drove past it this weekend and still like it. It has a good sized yard. You arent on top of your neighbors. It has a wooded lot between it and the next lot. It is 4 bedroom with an office and on the low end of our price range. I have looked at alot of listing, but this one I really like. We will see on Saturday. I cant wait.

I figured it out. Even if we found a house today, with a 60 day closing that puts us at the end of January, middle of February. Asking for a long closing could put us in March and that is perfect. A couple months rent and we wont have to deal with stupid apartments anymore. Just house problems.

Weekend Update

We dog sat for the Moose this weekend. If he were another dog like Zora I don't think I would mind as much, but watching him is so mentally draining. He is constantly going. He never stops. He really gets to me after awhile. Though no matter how annoyed I am at him, I still can't bring myself to stick him in his crate. I feel guilty leaving him alone when we are just sitting upstairs, especially when we find him like this. Though it is few and far between.

From Weekend

Other than the moose, this weekend was great. We finished our Christmas shopping. I have wrapped about a 1/3 of it. I am actually going to be able to mail it and not pay a fortune for it. All the laundry is done and the apartment is clean.

Pete got bored on Sunday cuz I wouldn't let him do any of the cleaning so he decided to be crafty.

From Weekend

All with 6 peices of paper, scissors, tape and a stapler. I was impressed. The dogs were interested.

Exciting happenings. Thursday when we got home we had another new neighbor. ]

This one was caught in the trap that was just sitting on the roof. No point to the trap, but whatever. Pete calls the office and the person just said Ok and hung up. Friday passes squirrel still there. Saturday morning passes squirrel still there. Time the office was open passes and we got annoyed. At this point if it wasn't done it wasn't going to happen til Monday. The poor squirrel was going insane. So with only 15 minutes to get ready and leave for church, we decide to free the squirrel. We pop out the study screen again. Breaking it this time, but whatever we wont be here much longer hopefully. I use the broom to try and get the trap open. This is freaking the squirrel out even more. At one point I pushed the trap off the roof and it was dangling by a wire. Pete and I are laughing the entire time and Zora is freaking out. The neighbors whose roof it is on come out on their deck to see what was happening. Pete had to reassure them that even though we were setting it free it wasn't going to get back into their wall. I finally realized that I needed another broom. After careful maneuvering and the thought that the squirrel was going to jump at me if I set it free. The squirrel was free. I got it open enough for him to squeeze out and make the jump 3 floors to the ground. He was a little stunned, but fine. Off he ran into the woods. Zora almost jumped out the window after him. She couldn't take the excitement. Screw Sunstone for making that poor squirrel wait.

Only 9 minutes until the weekend. I can not wait. Not that I can sleep late this weekend, but still looking forward to it. We are watching the moose this weekend and for some reason he can not sleep past 630 most mornings.

We meet with the last of the realtors that we are going to meet tomorrow morning. By tomorrow night we should have a decision. I really like the one from last night. Wednesday nights one leaves something to be desired compared to last night's. Last night's has already emailed us a couple listings.

Though, when I got to work this morning I was in an extremely foul mood. I dont know why, I just was. So much so that I kept feeling the need to slap one of my coworkers. Anyways, to cheer myself up I started searching for houses. I found a few I like, but one that I love. From the pictures anyways. Pete even likes it. As soon as we pick someone we are going to look at it. I am getting excited about looking at houses. I think we should go on House Hunters on HGTV. I wonder if we can apply. Probably should have thought of that sooner. Oh well.

Time to shut down. Have a good weekend!
